Joseph's Storehouse is blessed with large truck loads of food each month to be a blessing to many in the community.
Cars begin lining up early before our gates open at 8:30 on giveaway day, which last until 11:30. There is plenty of food for everyone who comes during those times.

Give Money
Food at Joseph's Storehouse is procured two (2) different ways: 1) Food is donated, 2) Food is purchased. It takes approximately $50 of cash to provide each big yellow wheelbarrow full of food, toiletries and other household items. We have to pay freight for the trucks that deliver the food, as well as the fuel and maintenance on our own trucks that we use to pick up food locally. We have the expense of utilities and maintenance necessary for our facilities, freezers, coolers, and forklifts as well as general warehouse and office supplies. Our overall administrative costs are kept very low thanks in part to all of our volunteers. Our ratio of 95.5% program to 4.5% administrative costs (2020 statistics) puts us in the grade A category for charities.

Give Food
We welcome food donations. Currently, our areas of greatest need are dry goods, boxed dinners, peanut butter, and toiletry/hygiene items (see "supplies" below). Because we also have transient individuals come for food that are living in motels or campgrounds, we also need food items that don't require cooking or refrigeration, such as cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, canned meats (spam, vienna sausages, etc.), power/meal bars, powdered milk, etc.
You might consider getting together with your co-workers, your church group, your civic league, or even just your family and friends, to host a food-drive. Once you have gathered your donation, your group might even want to volunteer during that month's food distribution.
There are many ways to help. Perhaps you work for a company that produces food or toiletry products, or know someone who does. You might coordinate an effort for a donation of unwanted freight, excess runs in production, or other similar corporate donations. You may remind them of the tax-deductibility of a donation as well as the positive press for helping the community.

Give Supplies
We are always in need of toiletries and basic household supplies (toilet paper, toothbrush & paste, feminine hygiene products, adult diapers, soap, shampoo, hand sanitizer, washing powders, dishwashing liquid, etc.). In addition, we accept donations of toys & appliances (refrigerators, freezers, etc.). If it is a large donation, call and we may be able to arrange pickup. It is always a good idea to call prior to bringing us in-kind donations to make sure that we have room to accept it. Donations of other large items, such a furniture and other appliances, please call ahead because, again, we have limited storage capacity, but we do often know of specific needs (a family involved in a house fire, for example, or another nonprofit organization) and can help coordinate the gift. You might even have larger donations, such as a truck to transport food. We gratefully appreciate each and every donation from toothbrushes to freezers and trucks and everything in between.
